In preparation for my thesis defense I began questioning the way I spoke. How often I said "like", the intonation of my voice, my ability to sound definitive, and what unconscious queues was I communicating with my speech. I began a daily practice of vocal exercises, recording myself to explore what it means to train one's mouth to speak like a lady.
